Susannah Craddock (daughter of Samuel Craddock and Sarah) was born April 01, 1835 in Cayuga
Co., Brutus, New York, and died September 22, 1917 in Rochester, MN. She
married (1) Daniel M. Jefferson on April 10,
1856, son of William Jefferson and Joan (Johanna) (?). She married (2) Nelson Sherman on July 29, 1861.

In the 1860 census for Delaware Co., Delaware twp., IA, Susannah Craddock Jefferson is 24 years old, already a widow, and living at the home of her in-laws William & Joan Jefferson, both born in NY. Her daughter Ella is 7/12 year old (7 months).

Susanna's Mother died when she was six, and a wealthy merchant named Henderson took her till her sister Diannah was married. From Rockville she and husband went to Manchester IA in 1857 and lived on a farm till 1860. She then moved to Chickasaw remaining till July 1861. In July 1861 she married Nelson Sherman.
