Alexander Monroe (b. March 08, 1756, d. November 20, 1842)

Alexander Monroe (son of Alexander Monroe and Margaret Lang) was born March 08, 1756 in Fauquier, VA, and died November 20, 1842 in Marion Co., Southport, Indiana. He married Elizabeth (Betsy) Chenworth on 1782 in Hampshire Co. Va..

 Notes for Alexander Monroe:
Alexander enlisted in the Revolutionary War, February 14, 1777 from Faquier Co., VA, his place of residence at that time. He is listed in the 1782 (?) census at Hampshire Co., VA (later WV). Sometime later he moved to Pendleton Co., KY. He is listed in the Pendleton Co. census records of 1800, 10, 20, 30. He was in the ministry for over 50 years, mostly in Pendleton Co. He died at Southport, Indiana (Marion Co.), at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth (Mrs. Joseph Wallace), and is buried at Southport, Indiana. Alexander and Elizabeth had 8 children. We only know about the first, fifth, and eighth.
