THE EARLIEST KNOW RECORD OF RICHARD AND JOHN BELCHER IS IN HENRICO CO. VIR IN JOHN NASH'S SHERIFF'S BOND ALONG WITH JAMES BAILEY.
JAMES BAILEYS SON RICHARD BAILEY MARRIED ELIZABETH BELCHER. IN 1759 JAMES BAILY BOUGHT 77 ACRES OF LAND S SIDE OF SKINQUARTER THIS LAND WAS ORIGINALLY PART OF A PATENT OF 375 GRANTED TO RICHARD BELCHER IN 1754 AND WAS THE FIRST OWNED BY THE BAILEY FAMILY.
